Temperatures this week could skyrocket to 44 degrees Celsius propelling a looming 'loo' condition – a severe heatwave. While fluctuating weather patterns featuring clouds, strong winds, and sporadic drizzles have been buffering the heat, the city is slated for a sweltering phase ahead. According to meteorological forecasts, Delhi's temperatures are expected to cross the 44-degree mark this week, accompanied by hot surface winds which may trigger 'loo' conditions. A dry atmosphere is likely to prevail throughout the week.

On May 15th, Delhi's temperature is forecasted to reach 42 degrees with the probability of strong and hot surface winds during the day leading to potential 'loo' conditions. This weather pattern is expected to continue until May 19th. Towards the end of the week, the mercury may climb as high as 43 degrees Celsius. To note, the highest temperature recorded thus far was 42 degrees Celsius on May 7th.

The areas around Delhi, including regions in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, are also experiencing smaller cyclonic circulations due to the intense heat.
