The weather in India's capital, Delhi, remains pleasant since last night. With the western disturbances kicking in, strong winds commenced from the evening of 19th June and light drizzles followed. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), dusty storms accompanied by thunderstorms and light rains are likely on 20th and 21st June. However, starting 23rd June, heatwaves are expected to make a comeback, potentially prevailing until 26th June.
Delhi to be gripped by severe heat once again
From Saturday, 23rd June, the heatwave is likely to afflict the city anew, with daytime temperatures reaching 44 degrees Celsius. After a two-day relief, Delhiites may have to endure the onslaught of the heatwave. The IMD predicts that the maximum temperature throughout the week might fluctuate between 40 to 44 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature may linger around 29 to 31 degrees Celsius. The department suggests that until the monsoon sets in, the residents may have to cope with the heat and loo (hot winds).
