Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena are enmeshed in a verbal showdown on social media platform. Following LG's visit to Sangam Vihar, he subtly questioned the Aam Aadmi Party government’s nine-year track record.

In response to a social media post by LG’s office, CM Kejriwal turned the tables on the Lieutenant Governor. He stated, 'LG Sir, I’m thankful that you pointed out our flaws. You had earlier exposed issues in Kirari and Burari too. I am directing the Chief Secretary to address these areas' deficiencies within a week.'

Kejriwal Accuses LG of Playing Opposition Role

Kejriwal wrote, 'The role you are playing is that of the opposition. It's the opposition’s job to pinpoint the lapses of the governing party. Unfortunately, today the seven BJP MPs are busy retiring from politics, and the eight legislators deeply asleep. That's why the BJP has been out of power in Delhi for the last 26 years. Thus, you reluctantly have to assume the opposition's role despite your constitutional position.'

'Services and vigilance fall under your purview'

The CM further declared, 'The officials responsible for these shortcomings should face stringent action. The domains of “services” and “vigilance” fall within your jurisdiction.'

Kejriwal continued, 'Had this been under my control, I would not only instantly suspend such careless officers but also take such action that no officer dares to repeat such negligence. I hope you will immediately suspend the senior-most officials of these departments and subject them to exemplary punishment. 20 million Delhi residents await your action.'

Lieutenant Governor Vinay Saxena shared pictures of Sangam Vihar on his social media handle, revealing the area's dire state. 'Upon the request of local residents, I visited Sangam Vihar yesterday. Despite nine years of false promises, over two million people living here are deprived of basic amenities, leading a hellish existence without proper roads, sewers, or garbage disposal.'
