‘I won't sit on the CM's chair until the public delivers their verdict,’ Kejriwal's 10 key points

Addressing party workers at the office, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, 'I did not come to be part of the 'money to power and power to money' game. In two days, I will resign from the CM post. I got justice from the court of law, now the public court will deliver justice.'

After being released from Tihar Jail following a Supreme Court bail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the party headquarters on Sunday and addressed the workers. He made a significant announcement, stating that he would resign from his position in two days and demand early elections in Delhi. He mentioned that he won't sit on the Chief Minister's chair until the people give him a 'certificate of honesty.'

CM Kejriwal revealed that a legislative party meeting would be held in the next two days to select a new Chief Minister, who would also be from the Aam Aadmi Party. He urged the Election Commission to hold elections in Delhi in November, alongside Maharashtra.

Main Points of Kejriwal's Speech
1-

I read a book – Bhagat Singh's Jail Diary. When Bhagat Singh was in jail, he wrote many articles compiled in this book. He also wrote letters to his comrades, which the British delivered. I wrote a letter to the LG from jail, seeking permission for Atishi to hoist the flag on Independence Day. The letter wasn’t delivered, and I was warned that if I wrote another letter, I wouldn't be allowed to meet my family. Even the British couldn’t foresee that, 95 years after freedom, India would have more cruel and oppressive rulers than the British... When Sandeep Pathak came to visit and talked politics, he was blacklisted... Bhagat Singh never thought, even in his wildest dreams, that 95 years after independence, the country would face such cruel and oppressive governance surpassing the British.

In two days, I am going to resign from the Chief Minister's post. Until the public delivers their verdict, I will not sit on the Chief Minister's chair... I will go to every house and street, and until the public gives their decision, I will not sit on the Chief Minister's chair.

3-

We will neither bow down nor stop nor sell out to the BJP. Today, we achieved so much for Delhi because of our honesty. They fear our honesty because they are not honest. I did not come to be part of the 'money to power and power to money' game. In two days, I will resign from the CM post. The court of law gave me justice, now the public court will deliver justice.

4-

Delhi will have elections in a few months. If you believe that Kejriwal is honest, then vote for me in the upcoming elections. Every single vote will be a certificate of my honesty. They have accused me of being a thief; I didn't come to play power games but to serve the country. Like how Sita underwent the trial by fire when Lord Ram returned after 14 years in exile, I am ready to face my trial by fire after coming out of jail.

5-

Some people are saying that the Supreme Court has imposed conditions. For the past 10 years, they have left no stone unturned in imposing conditions. The central government tried to halt my work by making laws. We have faced those conditions too. With the public's blessings, we have the strength to counter all the conspiracies of the BJP. We will neither bow down nor stop nor sell out to the BJP. Today, we achieved so much for Delhi because we are honest. They fear our honesty because they are not honest.

Arvind Kejriwal mentioned that Delhi would have elections in February next year. My demand is to hold elections immediately in Delhi and schedule them alongside Maharashtra in November.

The CM said, 'I did not resign because I want to save the nation's democracy. Had I resigned, they would have jailed everyone one by one since they have made cases against Siddaramaiah, Mamata Didi, and Pinarayi Vijayan. I want to plead with all non-BJP Chief Ministers to not resign if the Prime Minister tries to jail you on false pretexts. Do not resign under any circumstances; run the government from jail. It’s not that we are greedy for positions, but our constitution and democracy matter more. You are jail under false cases resulting from the huge majority you were elected with; they then demand you resigning from your post.'

I used to work as a Commissioner in the Income Tax department. From 2000 to 2010, I left my job and worked in Delhi's slums. Lately, I have been staying in the slums of Nand Nagri and Sundar Nagri. If I wanted to earn money, the job of an Income Tax Commissioner wasn't insufficient. I wanted to do something for the country. Today, no one leaves even a peon's job; I have left the Chief Minister's post twice. I have no desire for any position; I just want to contribute to my country.

In a day or two, it will be decided who will take the responsibility of the Chief Minister's post. What I say is also reflected in what Manish Ji says. He also stated that he would take on the Deputy CM and Education Minister's roles only when the public certifies that he is as honest as I am.

10-

They fear our honesty; they can't provide free electricity because they are dishonest. They have governments in several states but can't provide proper healthcare or improve schools. They have unleashed the ED and CBI on us, but we are honest. They throw mud at me and hurl abuses day and night. But BJP doesn't matter to me; you people matter. I earned nothing in life except respect.
