Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has targeted National Conference leader Omar Abdullah's statement in Ramban, Jammu. Abdullah remarked that Afzal Guru should not have been hanged. The Defense Minister asked, 'Should we have garlanded Afzal Guru publicly?'

On Sunday, Rajnath Singh was addressing an election rally in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir. He remarked, 'I heard National Conference leader Omar Abdullah say that Afzal Guru should not have been hanged. I want to ask him, if Guru should not have been hanged, should we have garlanded him publicly?... Establish a government here, and seeing the development, people in PoK (Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) will say that they don't want to stay with Pakistan; they want to come with India... We consider the people of PoK as our own. Come and join us. I have come to know that some fencing work is going on at the border, and that too will be completed soon.'

'Laptops and Computers in the Hands of Kashmiri Youth'

The Defense Minister also said that the National Conference, which has allied with the Congress party, has promised in its election manifesto to restore Article 370. No one has the courage to restore Article 370. Jammu and Kashmir, which was once known as a site of terrorism, has now become a tourist spot. Earlier, many young people in the Kashmir Valley used to carry pistols and revolvers. Today, see the change—they no longer hold pistols and revolvers; instead, you will see laptops and computers in their hands. This is a significant change. After 2022, not a single incident of stone-pelting has occurred. As long as the Bharatiya Janata Party is in power in India, no one can restore Article 370.
