Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, rising tensions between India and Pakistan have been clearly evident. Amidst this upheaval, the Indian Army indicated that Pakistani hackers have been targeting key defense websites of India, posing a threat of leaking confidential information related to defense personnel.
The Army reported that an ex-handle known as 'Pakistan Cyber Force' has breached data from Military Engineer Services (MES) and the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA). There is a concern about the potential leakage of many sensitive details, including login credentials of defense personnel.

Hackers Attempt to Damage Website
Additionally, it has been reported that the group tried to deface the official website of the public sector unit under the Ministry of Defense, ‘Armored Vehicle Corporation Limited’. The website was distorted using the Pakistani flag and AI tools.
Website Taken Offline
The Indian Army announced that, as a precaution, the ‘Armored Vehicle Corporation Limited’ website has currently been taken offline to permit full investigation and assessment of the extent of the damage caused by this cyber attack. Moreover, this measure aims to ensure the site's security remains intact.
Agencies Monitoring Cyberspace
Aside from this, cybersecurity experts and agencies are vigilantly monitoring cyberspace to immediately identify and counter any potential threats or sponsored cyberattacks linked to Pakistan. This surveillance aims to promptly detect and avert any threats in the future.
The Army emphasized that in response, measures are being taken to reinforce the security architecture, bolster digital security, and safeguard against future attempts at intrusion.
