West Bengal's Governor met with Home Minister Amit Shah this morning at 11:30 AM. The Governor arrived in Delhi on Thursday evening. According to sources, the Governor discussed the latest situation in the state, including the RG Kar incident, and provided detailed information to the Home Minister. Last week, Governor CV Anand Bose also met with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar to inform them about the RG Kar incident and subsequent developments.
Protests Continue in Kolkata
The news of the Governor's meeting with the Home Minister has reignited discussions about the possibility of President's Rule in West Bengal. The city has been grappling with continuous protests following the rape-murder case at RG Kar Hospital. The Governor has labeled the entire incident as a failure of the state government. He pointed out that the state government and Bengal police have failed at every level and criminal elements have overtaken the police force.
Governor Has Met President Before
Governor Anand Bose had already informed the President about the Kolkata incident. He has previously stated that there is no democracy in Bengal. The Mamata Banerjee government has failed to meet people's expectations. They have not fulfilled their responsibilities and should resign. Moreover, the Police Commissioner should also be removed immediately.
Reports Requested from Government Not Provided
The Governor stated, 'The Constitution has vested powers in me. I will continue to work for the benefit of Bengal. People's voices have not been heard. This is not a fight between the Governor and the Chief Minister. I have repeatedly discussed the current situation of the state with the CM. Whenever I request reports from the government, they are not provided. I have asked for 30 reports so far, but only one has been given to me.'

He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Anand Bose has served as Secretary to the Government, Chief Secretary of India, and Vice-Chancellor of a university. He has held a consultative position with the United Nations Habitat Alliance as its Chairman and was a member of the UN Habitat Governing Council. Bose has worked as District Collector and Principal Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary in several ministries including Education, Forest and Environment, Labor, and General Administration.

CV Anand Bose was born on January 2, 1951, in Mannanam, Kottayam, Kerala. Bose received his education from Curiacos Elias College, Mannanam and St. Berchman's College, Changanassery. He also earned a PhD from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, and became an IAS officer in 1977. Bose is a fellow of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
