The Congress Party has unveiled its second list of candidates for the upcoming Parliamentary elections, announcing contenders for 43 seats across Assam, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. Following the announcement of the candidates, a wave of discord has arisen within the party. Congress leader Devashish Jarariya vented his frustration on social media after failing to secure a nomination.
'Life is not simple, comrade...'
Targeting the Congress high command, Jarariya posted an emotional message on platform X, saying, 'Once again a battle formation is plotted; it’s time for another Abhimanyu. Life is not simple, comrade; it’s full of deceit, trickery, and betrayal.'
Jarariya, who had been seeking a ticket for the Bhind constituency in Madhya Pradesh, expressed his anguish on social media. 'Despite coming from a middle-class family and sacrificing for five years within the region, my loyalty, struggle, and honesty have been punished,' he shared on Monday.
It is reported that Jarariya was keen on the Bhind Lok Sabha seat, but his ticket application was declined. The Congress has nominated the current MLA Phool Singh Baraiya from there.
Candidates Announced for 43 Seats
In addition, this list includes Nakul Nath, son of Kamal Nath, from Chhindwara, while newly Congress-joined Rahul Kaswan has been fielded from the Churu Lok Sabha seat. Gaurav Gogoi from Jorhat, Sushmita Dev from Silchar, and Vaibhav Gehlot, son of Ashok Gehlot, from Jalore were also announced as contestants.
The Congress has given tickets to 7 general, 13 OBC, 10 SC, 9 ST, and one Muslim candidate in this list. Previously, Congress had declared candidates for 39 seats in its first list.
