Congress Mobilizes to Secure Dalit Vote Bank, Protests Erupt in Delhi

'In honor of the Dalits, Congress took a stand,' was the slogan as hundreds of Delhi Congress workers hit the streets on Wednesday. Activists marching from Jai Singh Road towards the Parliament were halted at Parliament Street Road. Prominent Congress leaders, including Ajay Maken and P.L. Punia, participated prominently in this demonstration.

A reference to the deaths during the Bharat Bandh violence was made in the program. It was stated that atrocities against Dalits are incessantly occurring.
