Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has reacted to Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee's post-election statements on supporting the India Block. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury states that he does not trust Mamata Banerjee, recalling her exit from a past coalition. He said, 'Mamata Banerjee broke the coalition and now starts to align since Congress is coming to power.'
Chowdhury remarked, 'Given a BJP-majority scenario, she might lean towards them too. I cannot trust her because the break of alliance was evident to all.'
BJP and JD(U) also respond
On Mamata Banerjee's declaration, BJP too made sarcastic comments. BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, 'Let them dream during the day. The government isn't even formed yet, and they're moving ahead presumptuously.' Meanwhile, JD(U) leader Umesh Kushwaha commented, 'The so-called India Alliance doesn't even exist. It is over and has no ground reality. They've lost the coalition even before fighting the election.'
Targets aimed at Mamata Banerjee
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had expressed, 'The BJP claims to win 400 seats, but people understand that won't happen. The country realizes that the BJP is filled with swindlers. We (TMC) will support the India Block from outside in forming a government and will assist in every way. We aim to establish a regime ensuring that the women of Bengal never face complications, and those partaking in the 100 Days Work Scheme are not hindered.'
She clarified, 'I'm referring to the Delhi-based India Block, not including CPM or Bengal Congress. Once BJP is out of power, we'll cease the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
