On Wednesday evening, Congress revealed another list of candidates highlighting the critical seat of Hyderabad. Additionally, the party has designated Ramashyam Raghuram Reddy for the Khammam seat and Valichala Rajendra Rao for Karimnagar.

Both Owaisi brothers have filed nominations for the Hyderabad seat

The AIMIM party has nominated Akbaruddin Owaisi as an alternative candidate for the Hyderabad seat as a backup in case Asaduddin Owaisi's nomination gets rejected for any reason. This strategic move is not new for AIMIM, as similar tactics were observed in the state legislative assembly elections where Akbaruddin Owaisi filed his nomination from Chandrayangutta and was later joined by his son Nooruddin Owaisi, who subsequently withdrew his nomination.

A stronghold for AIMIM Hyderabad

Hyderabad is considered a stronghold for the AIMIM party, a legacy initiated when Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi emerged victorious in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections. For 20 years, he served as the MP from this constituency. Now, his son Asaduddin Owaisi leads the seat, currently facing opposition from Madhavi Lata and, with Congress's latest move, joining the fray.
