Congress candidate Kanhaiya Kumar has completed his nomination process for the Northeast Delhi parliamentary seat. Before nominating himself, the Congress candidate hosted a roadshow, where surprisingly, a bulldozer was also on display. Kumar has previously criticized the BJP government's politics involving bulldozers.
In Kumar's nomination event, leaders from Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and CPI(M) under the India block participated. Kanhaiya is contesting against BJP's prominent leader Manoj Tiwari, who has already filed his nomination and has won the seat twice before.

Rituals before the nomination
Kanhaiya Kumar performed a havan (ritual) before filing his nomination for the East Delhi parliamentary seat. He mentioned that spiritual leaders from all religions presented him with the Preamble to the Constitution, offered prayers, and blessed him. Kanhaiya shared pictures of his havan on social media along with a caption reflecting a message of unity across different faiths.
Further, he stated, 'Today, before filing my nomination, spiritual leaders from all faiths shared the Preamble to the Constitution with me and blessed me. This is our India, this is our Constitution. I am committed to ensuring the protection of this India and its Constitution with all my heart.'
Delhi will vote on May 25
It's important to note that all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi will go to polls in the sixth phase on May 25. This time, both AAP and Congress under the India block are contesting elections. Congress is competing in three constituencies—Chandni Chowk, Northeast Delhi, and Northwest Delhi—while AAP is contesting in New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and East Delhi.
