Commuter Jumps in Front of Metro Train in Delhi, Hospitalized in Critical Condition

A sudden leap in front of a moving train at the Delhi metro station prompted a rescue operation and the injured were rushed to the nearest medical facility.

Panic struck at the Udyog Bhavan Metro Station in Delhi on Wednesday morning when a commuter suddenly threw themselves in front of an oncoming metro train. The person, critically injured in the incident, was luckily saved. Passersby handed them over to the staff of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, following which he was taken to a nearby hospital. The chaos unfolded at the Udyog Bhavan Metro Station.

It is reported that around 11:30 a.m., the individual who jumped was standing on the platform. Just as the train from the direction of the university was due to arrive, they jumped. This event caused immediate turmoil at the scene. Security personnel and others present managed to rescue the injured commuter and transport them to a nearby hospital. The person suffered severe injuries in the leap.

Metro Services Disrupted for a Short While

The accident was promptly reported to the Delhi Metro Rail Police. The police reached the scene thereafter and took control of the situation. Following the incident, metro services were briefly interrupted, and train operations were regulated for a while. At approximately 12:04 p.m., the train services resumed. The reasons behind the incident are being investigated.
