Rumors have circulated for a long time about the involvement of the American 'deep state' in the ousting of Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in August 2024. Now, former Bangladeshi minister and key negotiator during the crisis, Mohibul Hasan Chaudhary, has claimed confirmation of this.
In an interview with media outlet Russia Today (RT), Chaudhary alleged that groups linked to George Soros, USAID, the Clinton family, and the Biden administration were involved in funding efforts. This funding was allegedly used to bolster radicals and destabilize the government in Dhaka in 2024.
Chaudhary explained that the riots that deposed Sheikh Hasina were not spontaneous; since 2018, certain families, particularly the Bidens and Clintons, in collaboration with American NGOs like the International Republican Institute (IRI), had campaigned extensively against her government.
The former minister accused that student protests, initially launched over job reservation reforms, were "meticulously planned with this money." He claimed this chaos escalated into larger riots, infiltrated by Islamic elements.
Chaudhary furthermore alleged that there have been long-standing ties between the "Clinton family and interim Yunus regime." He charged secret NGO funding to destabilize Hasina's government, and millions of dollars from USAID being unaccounted for, allegedly used in 'regime change activities.'
After Sheikh Hasina fled the country, Muhammad Yunus was appointed as the chief advisor to the interim government. Chaudhary labeled the entire affair a 'Western-backed operation', aimed at dismantling Hasina's prolonged rule and establishing a more compliant regime in Dhaka.
