Mayawati's reaction
On the issue, Mayawati wrote on social media: "The incident in Mukhtiyarpur village of Najibabad in Bijnor, where feudal elements carried out life-threatening attacks on Dalit families leaving several injured, is severe and deeply distressing. The government should take strict action under the SC/ST Act so that the election environment remains unaffected. The Election Commission should also take notice."
