In the ongoing political churn in Bihar over Lok Sabha seat allocation, the spotlight is on Chirag Paswan, president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ramvilas). As party corridors buzz with speculation, Chirag, who recently distanced himself from PM Modi's rallies in Bihar, has made a significant statement. At a rally in the Sahebganj assembly constituency, Chirag indicated he's exploring his options, expressing his sole allegiance to the people of Bihar. His speech drew comparisons between his devotion to PM Modi to that of Lord Hanuman's to Lord Ram.

Chirag's assertion that every party seeks his allegiance stems from the impact of his 'Bihar First' vision, which aims to pull the state out of its developmental lag. He portrayed himself as the rightful heir to his late father Ramvilas Paswan, dubbing himself 'the lion's son' during his speech.

'Chirag Paswan Cannot Be Intimidated'

In the rally, Chirag tactfully omitted any direct references to the recent split in his party caused by Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who heads JD(U). However, he openly discussed the 'conspiracies' he faced aimed at fragmenting his home, family, and party, affirming that 'Chirag Paswan cannot be intimidated.'

Paras Faction Claims Right to Hajipur Seat Again

Meanwhile, Chirag's bold stance doesn't sit well with the RLSP, led by uncle Pashupati Paras. They've declared intentions to contest from the Hajipur seat again. Party spokesperson Shravan Agarwal stated that relinquishing any of their five seats is out of the question and expects BJP's respect for their claim as NDA allies. Despite counter-offers to RLSP, no one seems brave enough to tempt them otherwise.

LJP Contested on Six Seats in 2019 Elections

In 2019, the LJP contested six seats and triumphed on all, but the party later split into two factions. Insiders suggest both factions might have to settle for fewer seats this time, with Kushwaha's National Lok Morcha and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha joining the NDA alignment.
