Labelled as Modi's Hanuman, Chirag Paswan is currently under the political spotlight in Bihar, primarily due to the looming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. On March 18th, BJP leadership unveiled their alliance seat-sharing formula for Bihar, granting 17 seats to BJP, 16 to JD(U), and 5 to Chirag-led LJP (Ram Vilas), sidelining Pashupati Paras, Chirag's uncle, completely. Following this, on March 19th, Paras resigned from his ministerial post.

This high-stakes drama has affirmed Chirag Paswan's starring role in BJP's political ambitions in Bihar. To understand the origin of this trust, let's rewind to when LJP split into factions following the death of Chirag's father, Ram Vilas Paswan, in 2020. After the split, despite not formally being a part of NDA, Chirag's new party continued to extend support to BJP, highlighting reciprocal bonds of allegiance.

From Actor to Political Debut!

Chirag's political career ignited in 2014. Post his cinematic flop, he directed his aspirations to the political stage. At the time, Ram Vilas Paswan's LJP was part of Congress-led UPA. However, Chirag played a pivotal role in rerouting the party towards NDA, arguing that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress weren't providing adequate recognition.

In a landmark move, Chirag managed to convince his father to join NDA, marking the beginning of his political transformation. Since their NDA alliance, the betting has always been in their favor, with Chirag securing his debut parliamentary win from Bihar's Jamui constituency.
