The oath-taking ceremony for Modi's government 3.0 was held on Sunday evening. Chirag Paswan, the MP from Hajipur and the national president of the LJP Ram Vilas, has been included in Modi's Cabinet 3.0. He swore in as a cabinet minister, taking also the oath of secrecy. Almost 24 hours later, on Monday, the portfolios were assigned. Chirag Paswan has been named the Minister of Food Processing Industries. Previously, his father Ram Vilas Paswan had handled the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
After becoming a Member of Parliament thrice, this is the first time Chirag has been given a ministerial berth in the central government. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this opportunity. After receiving the ministry, Chirag commented that he was very pleased and would take on this responsibility with full earnestness. Chirag noted that the department plays a significant role in the country's development. While he mentioned it may take some time to acquaint himself with the ministry, he proudly recalled how his father managed various ministries even before he was well-known. Chirag emphasized the importance of having the ability to utilize one's position to benefit the public.

Ram Vilas Paswan has held various ministerial roles during his tenure, including Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Minister of Mines, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Minister of Railways, Minister of Labor and Welfare, among others.
