In a shocking display of inhumanity from the police in Rajasthan, a mere question triggered such fury that a person was thrown to the ground and savagely beaten. A terrified child pleaded, hands folded, before the officers as his father was being assaulted, yet the police remained heartless. Now, after the video of the entire incident has gone viral, departmental enquiries have been ordered.
The issue arose in Jaipur's Bhankrota region at Jay Singh Pura. A domestic dispute had been ongoing between Chiranjilal and his wife Dimple. When the police arrived with Dimple at Chiranjilal's house, the place was deserted and locked.
While the police were present, Dimple attempted to break the house lock, which alarmed the neighbors and they informed Chiranjilal. When Chiranjilal arrived at the scene with his family, he questioned the officers about the lock-breaking, which caused an immediate and brutal reaction from the police who began to beat him and misbehaved with the interveners from his family.
The innocent son also fell at the feet of a policeman begging for his father's release, but the officers continued their onslaught. As they began hauling Chiranjilal away in a vehicle, local women also attempted to intervene and stop the police.
This confrontation escalated to include physical altercations with the women present. The police then took Chiranjilal along with his father Shankarlal, uncle Ramesh, and brother Babulal into custody for allegedly disturbing the peace.
DCP West Amit Kumar informed Aaj Tak about the incident, saying that on April 15, a woman named Dimple reported to the police station that her in-laws had thrown her out of their house. The police resolved the situation upon arrival that day.
However, the next day, on April 16, the woman returned to the station, claiming domestic abuse by her in-laws. When the police reached her home to mediate, the situation escalated. However, orders for an internal investigation have been placed for those policemen who displayed inhumane behavior.
