Chief Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai has personally addressed the controversy sparked by his comments about the statue of Lord Vishnu in Khajuraho. Responding to social media criticism, he reaffirmed his respect for all religions, which appears to have somewhat calmed the situation.
The government's lawyer, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, also supported the CJI, remarking that he has known him for over a decade and commented on the criticisms emerging on social media.
Tushar Mehta noted that while every action has a reaction, the responses on social media often seem inappropriate. He added that the Chief Justice visits places related to all religions.
'Media: An Unbridled Horse...'
During the conversation, senior lawyer Kapil Sibal mentioned that social media has become an unbridled horse, creating daily challenges. The Chief Justice pointed out that social media contributed to events in Nepal as well.
