On Friday, in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, the police solved the mystery of a blind murder. Recently, a young man's body was discovered under suspicious circumstances in the Kulbehera River at Gangiwada. The police arrested and sent three individuals, including the deceased's wife and her lover, to jail in relation to this case.
On January 20, the rural police station received a tip about an unrecognized body found under the bridge in Kulbehera River near Gangiwada, alongside a motorcycle. Upon investigation, the deceased was identified by Vinita as her husband, Keval Sallam. Initially, the incident appeared to be an accident.
After documenting the scene and conducting a post-mortem, the report revealed that the death occurred due to asphyxiation from strangulation and severe head injury. Police registered a case under Crime Number 31/2025 Section 103(1), 238 BNS, and commenced an investigation. Under the guidance of Superintendent Ajay Pandey, a team was formed by Rural Inspector Govind Singh Rajput to capture the unknown suspects.
A thorough analysis of Keval Sallam's phone records, along with interrogating his father and brother, was carried out. Additionally, CCTV footage from the vicinity indicated a love affair between the deceased's wife, Vinita, and the accused, Manish Sahu. Keval had become aware of this affair, leading to disputes with Vinita.
Driven by this conflict, Manish Sahu, persuaded by Vinita, orchestrated the murder. On January 18, after intoxicating Keval, Manish took him to the scene near Kulbehera River in Gangiwada, strangled him with a cloth, and then crushed his skull with a rock.
To disguise the murder as an accident, they disposed of Keval's body in the water and left his motorcycle nearby. The police have arrested and imprisoned the accused wife, Vinita Sallam, her lover Manish Sahu, and accomplice Vikas Sahu. SP Ajay Pandey commended the relentless efforts of the police team, leading to the breakthrough in solving the blind murder case within 24 hours.
