: The reverent period of Chaitra Navratri is set to commence on April 9th and culminate on April 17th with Maha Navami. Dedicated to Goddess Durga, it is believed that devout worship during these holy days can bestow desired boons. This year, faithful observers will partake in a rigorous nine-day fast. On April 16th, Maha Ashtami will be celebrated with the revered Kanya Pujan ritual, followed with the conclusion of Navratri on Maha Navami, April 17th. Auspicious Conjunction After 30 Years (Chaitra Navratri 2024 Shubh yog)
Astrological calculations indicate a rare occurrence on Chaitra Navratri of a wondrous conjunction of Amrit Siddhi Yog, Sarvarth Siddhi Yog, Shash Yog, and Ashwini Nakshatra, seen once in 30 years. This alignment will begin on April 9th at 07:32 AM and extend till the morning of April 19th at 05:06 AM.
Ghatsthapana Muhurat (Chaitra Navratri 2024 Ghatsthapana Muhurat)
On the Chaitra Krishna Pratipada Tithi, the Navratri fasts commence after Ghatsthapana. This year, there are two auspicious muhurats for Ghatsthapana during Chaitra Navratri.
1. First Auspicious Muhurat-
On April 9th, from 6:11 AM to 10:23 AM.
2. Abhijit Muhurat-
From 11:57 AM to 12:48 PM.
Ghatsthapana Essentials (Chaitra Navratri 2024 Pujan Samagri)
Essential items required for Ghatsthapana on Chaitra Navratri include a broad wooden platform, a clay pot with an opening, sacred Earth, seven types of grains, a Kalash filled with Ganga water, a sacred thread (Kalava or Mauli), betel nut (Supari), mango or Ashoka leaves, unbroken rice grains (Akshat), a coconut with husk, a red cloth, and flower garlands.
Ghatsthapana Ritual (Chaitra Navratri 2024 Ghatsthapana Vidhi)
Begin by placing soil in a wide-mouthed clay pot and sowing the seven grains. Then fill the Kalash with water and tie the sacred thread around its neck. Next, place mango or Ashoka leaves on top of the Kalash. Wrap the coconut in a red cloth and place it above the Kalash, sandwiched between the leaves, ensuring the coconut is also enveloped in the sacred thread. Following the completion of Ghatsthapana, invoke the Goddess. Devotees can perform additional worship and rituals as per their preferences.
