The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a significant announcement regarding the 2026 board exams. Both Class 10 and Class 12 exams are set to begin on February 17, 2026. Notably, from 2026, CBSE will conduct the Class 10 board exams twice a year. This change aligns with the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
CBSE has released the exam dates for both 10th and 12th grades. The board exams will start on February 17, 2026, with the 10th-grade exam concluding on March 10, 2026, while the 12th-grade exam will continue until April 9, 2026. All exams will be held from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
In a preparative move, CBSE had earlier released a preliminary temporary date sheet on September 24, 2025, based on the registration data of classes 9 and 11. This initiative aimed to allow schools, teachers, and students to prepare accordingly.
