After heavy rain in several parts of Goa, the depression that formed in the east-central Arabian Sea is now progressing toward Gujarat. Its impact is being felt in Marathwada and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipates partly cloudy skies, occasional thunder with light to moderate rain, and gusty winds in Mumbai and surrounding regions.
The weather department forecasts that Mumbai's maximum temperature will hover around 34°C, with a minimum of approximately 26°C. It is important to note that this depression is now advancing towards Gujarat. The IMD indicated that moderate rain with thunderstorms is likely in most districts of North Konkan.
Rain is also expected in several districts of South Konkan-Goa and North Central Maharashtra. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is predicted in some districts of South Central Maharashtra.
The India Meteorological Department reported that the depression over the east-central Arabian Sea has moved westward at a speed of 13 kilometers per hour over the past six hours, remaining centered until 5:30 AM on October 30, 2025.

The center is located at a latitude of 17.9°N and longitude of 68.2°E, approximately 400 kilometers southwest of Veraval (Gujarat), 510 kilometers west-southwest of Mumbai (Maharashtra), and 660 kilometers west-northwest of Panaji (Goa). This system may move westward over the east-central Arabian Sea in the next 36 hours.
Warning of High Waves
Warnings have been issued for high waves measuring between 2.7 to 3.0 meters at the Raigad coast in Maharashtra from Ulva Moha to Bagmandla until 11:30 PM on October 30. Similarly, waves between 2.6 and 3.1 meters are anticipated in Thane, Mumbai, and nearby coastal areas. The weather department advises caution regarding maritime activities and staying away from shores.
On October 30 and 31, winds at a velocity of 35 to 45 km/h, with possible gusts reaching up to 55 km/h, may occur along the coasts of Karnataka, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and neighboring sea regions. Parts of the eastern-central Arabian Sea may experience winds moving at 45 to 55 km/h, potentially reaching up to 65 km/h. Fishermen are urged to refrain from venturing into these areas.
