Former Principal Sandeep Ghosh has been under suspicion from the beginning and has faced over 100 hours of questioning during the past nine days.

How and When the Horrific Crime Happened
This horrifying crime occurred on the night of August 8-9, when the body of a trainee doctor was found at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College. The 31-year-old doctor was on night duty that day with three other doctors, two from the Chest Medicine Department and a trainee. A staff member from the hospital's house staff was also present. That night, all the doctors and staff had dinner together.
Afterward, around 2 AM, the female doctor went to sleep in the hospital's seminar hall. Sanjay Roy then entered the seminar hall through a back entrance, brutally murdered her, and then raped her. The critical point is that the accused was neither hospital staff nor a relative of any patient. He was serving as a civic volunteer for the Kolkata police.
