The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been granted remand for the key suspect, Aman Singh, in the ongoing NEET UG paper leak investigation. Last Wednesday, the CBI made a decisive move by arresting Aman Singh in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and today successfully presented their case before the court for his remand. Lawyers representing the CBI, along with officers, applied for the remand, which led to the court granting a 4-day custodial interrogation. This marks the sixth arrest in connection with the NEET paper leak case by the investigative agency.

In addition to Aman Singh, the CBI is seeking to re-question Chintu, Principal Ehsan Ul Haq, Vice Principal Imtiyaz, and Jamaluddin from the Oasis School. There are critical questions unanswered in the paper leak case, prompting them to request further remand. Following the end of the previous remand period, Mukesh, Manish Prakash, and Ashutosh have been sent to judicial custody.

What is Aman Singh's role in the NEET paper leak?

CBI's capture of Aman Singh in Dhanbad indicates a crucial development in the case. Singh is reportedly a close affiliate of the fugitive Rocky, who is deeply connected to Sanjeev Mukhiya's hotel business in Ranchi. Rocky arranged for 'solvers' to prepare answers after the paper leak. He is an important asset in the Sanjeev Mukhiya gang in Jharkhand, utilizing medical students from Ranchi and Patna as solvers in the scam. According to sources, Singh's arrest could unveil significant information regarding Rocky and the solvers involved.

The CBI will also interrogate Aman Singh about Sanjeev Mukhiya's current whereabouts. It is possible that Singh will be brought to Patna for questioning. It's worth noting that the remand period for the suspects currently in the CBI's custody is concluding today, July 4th.

Supreme Court Hearing Scheduled for July 8th

As the CBI's investigation into the NEET paper leak progresses, the students involved and the petitioners eagerly await the upcoming hearing in the Supreme Court on July 8th. The petitions vary, with some alleging the leak of the exam paper and others demanding the annulment of the entire examination with requests for a re-conduct of the medical entrance test.
