Former Governor of India, Satyapal Malik, is currently admitted to a hospital in Delhi, grappling with severe kidney issues. From the confines of the ICU, Malik released an emotional message on Saturday, sharing his current situation with the nation and recalling his long public service, struggles, and unwavering integrity while making sharp allegations against the government.

In the midst of this, the CBI has filed a charge sheet against him and six others concerning an alleged corruption case linked to the ₹2200 crore Kiru Hydroelectric Project's civil works contracts. According to the charge sheet, there are accusations of irregularities in the tender process intended to benefit certain companies. This project holds significant development potential for Jammu and Kashmir.

In his recent post, Satyapal Malik stated, "I have been hospitalized for nearly a month, battling kidney issues. I was fine since the morning, but I had to be moved back to the ICU today. My condition is worsening. Whether I survive or not, I wish to tell the truth to my fellow countrymen."

He claimed that while serving as a governor, he was offered bribes of ₹150 crores but refused to deviate from the path of honesty shown by his political mentor, the late Chaudhary Charan Singh. Reminiscing his role during the farmers' protest, he shared, "During my tenure as governor, the farmers' movement was ongoing. I supported their demands without any political bias."

Criticisms on Government, Questions for Agencies

Similarly, he claimed active involvement in the movement supporting female wrestlers and accused the government of not conducting an impartial investigation into the Pulwama attack. Malik stated that he stood by the female wrestlers in all their battles, from Jantar Mantar to India Gate. He also highlighted the issue of martyred soldiers in the Pulwama attack, criticizing the government for failing to investigate it. He accused the government of using the CBI to try and implicate him in a false charge sheet as a scare tactic.

Malik remarked that the tender over which they want to accuse him was one he himself canceled, informing the Prime Minister of the corruption involved. After his transfer, the tender was signed by someone else. Emphasizing his resolve, he declared, "I belong to the farmer community; I neither fear nor bend."

Mention of Financial Status

Satyapal Malik asserted that despite over 50 years of public service, holding prominent positions, he still resides in a single-room house and is in debt. In his post, he wrote, "The government has invested all its efforts to tarnish my reputation. Ultimately, I request the government and its agencies to tell my beloved country's people the truth about what the investigation revealed about me. After over 50 years in active politics, serving the nation in high positions, I still live in a single-room home and am in debt. If I possessed wealth, I would be receiving treatment in a private hospital."
