In Karnataka's Bangalagudde area, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) accelerated their excavation efforts on Tuesday, marking the seventh day of the ongoing investigation. To date, approximately 100 bone fragments have been recovered. Additionally, skeletal remains have been found at Site 6 and Site 11-A. However, Site 11-A is not precisely the location pinpointed by the complainant.
Although it is in close proximity to the reported area, it's not an exact match. The SIT is meticulously excavating every minor point with utmost precision.
According to reports, digging at Site 11 commenced on Tuesday morning. Workers began by clearing the bushes, followed by deploying machinery to aid in the deep excavation. Sources suggest that the SIT planned to excavate three different sites on Tuesday to ensure all significant clues or human remains were located despite the rain.
Security at the site has been increased, with the police dog squad arriving for further investigation.
Forensic Analysis to Identify Remains
According to SIT sources, the entire operation is being conducted discreetly to avoid crowding and chaos. The skeletal remains, found on Monday, are speculated to belong to a male individual. However, conclusive identification will only be possible upon receiving the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report. Currently, the FSL team is conducting scientific testing on the bones.
Investigations have also revealed that while some sites yielded only soil and stones, others revealed fragments of bones.

Rain Hampers Progress at the Holy Site
A police officer mentioned that the only remaining sites for excavation are Site 12 and 13. If necessary, further digging might occur in nearby areas. However, continuous rain is severely hindering the investigation. The wet soil is causing significant difficulties for both workers and machinery. Meanwhile, a new dispute has emerged regarding the case.
Lawyers claim that three skeletons have been found at site 11-A, but police sources have firmly dismissed this assertion.
Local Anxiety Grows Amidst Rumors
Police believe that such statements aim to spread rumors. Following recent discoveries, the case has garnered widespread attention. Villages and towns in the vicinity are buzzing with speculations. Anxiety and fear linger among local residents, as the SIT has yet to identify the recovered remains or provide information about their origin.
So far, two witnesses have come forward, and the police are acting based on their testimonies.
