The situation in neighboring Bangladesh remains tense. Protesters are attacking homes and temples of Hindus there. Consequently, many Hindus in Bangladesh are trying to come to India. As a result, hundreds of Bangladeshi citizens and Hindus have gathered at the India-Bangladesh border in Cooch Behar. All are currently on the Bangladesh side, standing near the barbed wire fence at the border. A substantial deployment of BSF personnel is in place at the border.

Addressing the gathered Bangladeshi citizens, a BSF soldier said, 'If you all understand Bengali, please listen carefully to what I'm saying. We understand the problem you're facing. Everyone understands this issue. You've come here, which is a matter of discussion. Such issues cannot be resolved this way. We cannot take you inside on our own will, and if you create a commotion, our message won't get across.'

Milind Deora's remarks about the border situation

Meanwhile, Milind Deora of the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) posted on X that BSF officers were using loudspeakers to explain to Bangladeshis that they cannot illegally enter India. He also shared the reason behind this. Milind mentioned that the video was simultaneously heart-wrenching, inspiring, and reassuring. He said the desperation is heart-breaking, the officer's calm demeanor is inspiring, and it is reassuring to know that the government is committed to securing India's borders.
