BJP President Nitin Nabin visits three temples, pays respects at a Gurudwara

The Bharatiya Janata Party has unanimously elected Nitin Nabin as the national president. On Tuesday, Nitin Nabin will engage in prayers at various religious sites in Delhi and then formally assume the position at the BJP headquarters at 11:30 AM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and other senior leaders in attendance.

Today marks a significant milestone for Nitin Nabin as he officially steps into the role of the BJP's new national president. Ahead of this ceremonial event, Nitin Nabin is set to pay homage at several religious sites, paving his spiritual path before taking charge at the BJP headquarters.

With a scheduled itinerary, Nitin Nabin began his day at the revered Jhandewalan Temple at 8 AM. His spiritual journey continued as he visited the Valmiki Temple and offered prayers at the Hanuman Temple, culminating with a devotional visit to the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara.

At 11:30 AM, the formal handover of the presidential role will take place at the BJP headquarters with the presence of eminent figures like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, former president J.P. Nadda, Nitin Gadkari, alongside various chief ministers, central ministers, and key BJP office bearers.

Offering Respect at Bangla Sahib

- Following his prayers at the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, newly elected BJP President Nitin Nabin proceeds to the party headquarters to assume his new role.

K. Laxman, the BJP's national returning officer, announced that with Nitin Nabin as the only candidate, he has filed his nomination for the national president position, supported by 37 nomination sets found valid upon review.

Laxman stated that esteemed leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari, proposed and endorsed Nitin Nabin’s candidature.

Laxman elaborated that the nomination process occurred from 2 PM to 4 PM on Monday, confirming all nominations as per the required format. With the withdrawal deadline passing, Nitin Nabin stood as the unchallenged national president candidate, officially declared by the completion of procedural norms.

He indicated that the national president election process commenced following the completion of elections of state presidents in 30 of the 36 states, surpassing the requisite fifty percent quota.

The electoral notification was issued on January 16, with the voter list published on the same day. Among 37 nomination sets submitted, 36 hailed from states with endorsements by 20 leaders per set.

Who is Nitin Nabin?

Nitin Nabin is a five-time legislator from Bihar, currently representing the Bankipur assembly constituency. He has been a key minister in Bihar government departments and held prominent roles within the party, serving as the national general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) and as the president of Bihar state. In December 2025, he was appointed as the BJP's national executive president.
