The India Today Group-CVoter Mood of the Nation (MOTN) survey reveals a promising lead for the BJP. If Lok Sabha elections were held today, the saffron party seems poised for governance on its own. According to the survey, the BJP stands to acquire 281 seats, marking an independent majority. In contrast, Congress is anticipated to secure 78 seats, a decline from the previous 99 seats. Other parties could claim 184 seats overall.

The MOTN survey, orchestrated by India Today Group and CVoter, spanned from January 2 to February 9, 2025, encompassing 54,418 respondents from all 543 Lok Sabha seats nationwide. In addition, CVoter tapped into the opinions of 70,705 individuals over the past 24 weeks, cumulating to a substantial input from 125,123 voices for the MOTN report.
While aiming to decipher the nation's socio-political and economic atmosphere, the survey employed CATI (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing) methodology. The survey embraced RDD (Random Digit Dialing) techniques for nationwide engagement, portraying an accurate reflection of India's diverse populace.
Data Analysis and Accuracy
The survey maintained a margin of error at ±3% macro, and ±5% micro. The data was weighted against variables such as gender, age, education, income, religion, caste, urban/rural demographics, and past voting tendencies to accurately represent the Indian populace. The survey was conducted in 11 national languages to ensure inclusivity.
