The selection process for the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party is gaining momentum. However, the elections have been delayed due to unresolved issues in two states. Rumors suggest further postponement, with a possibility of rescheduling the elections to next month.

Initially, the BJP's national president election was set for January. However, with the Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh state president elections pending, the national election is on hold. Significant changes in the central government and party organization are expected.

Consensus Challenges

Following the election of a new president, substantial organizational changes are anticipated within the BJP. Influential leaders might be included in the party's top decision-making body, the Parliamentary Board. Consensus on the new president is yet to be reached.

The party leadership aims to appoint a leader capable of strengthening and managing the organization. The focus is on appointing a leader with strong organizational skills rather than sending political messages. Post-election, 50% of the national secretaries will be replaced, with young leaders taking on these roles.
