As the 2024 general elections approach, all political leaders are in full action, dedicating time to rallies and public relations. However, some leaders are facing opposition from their own party supporters. BJP MP PC Mohan from Bengaluru's seat is one of them, as confrontations erupted today between him and BJP supporters in Shantinagar.

Angrily charged, BJP MP PC Mohan abruptly left the campaign event in Shantinagar due to protest from party workers. The confrontation during today's meeting stirred sharp exchanges between local leaders, BJP workers, and MP PC Mohan.

BJP supporters challenged MP PC Mohan on his lack of contributions despite being elected three times, and expressed disappointment in their candidate's failure to make a significant impact during his tenure.

Activists questioned Mohan's candidacy for another term, arguing that if he has not fulfilled their expectations, he should not be granted another chance. Former Shantinagar councilor Shivakumar and BJP workers openly expressed their dissatisfaction, suggesting Mohan should have followed the example set by retired leaders such as Sadananda Gowda. Amidst the protest, PC Mohan left the venue mid-event.

Since the formation of Bengaluru Central electoral district following delimitation in 2008, PC Mohan has consistently won elections here since 2009, maintaining his position as the sitting MP. BJP is betting on Mohan once again for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, as the party's position in the southern state continues to strengthen. In the 2019 general elections, BJP secured victories in 25 of Karnataka's 28 constituencies.
