The night of July 14th was supposed to bring the wedding of Arjun Mandal's daughter Pinky Kumari. The groom, Deepak Kumar, from Mohanpur, Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, was expected to arrive with his procession. While the bride awaited her groom, a disagreement erupted over where the groom's vehicle should be parked. The groom's uncle suggested carrying the groom himself to the doorstep because of a pole blocking the way. This disagreement between the bride's cousin and the groom's uncle escalated, resulting in a celebratory gunshot turning deadly when the bride's cousin fired at the uncle's head following a refusal to halt the celebration, leading to his immediate death on the scene.
The deceased was identified as Vinod Mandal from Aamapur, Kahalgaon. The tragic incident caused an uproar in the wedding ceremony. The dream of becoming a bride remained unfulfilled for Pinky, who, while looking at the henna on her hands, lamented her innocence in the event.
The intended groom, Deepak Kumar, recounted the night's events, including the altercation and the fatal consequence that followed, leaving the marriage unsolemnized. The assailant, named Sajan Kumar, was the bride's cousin, while the victim was Vinod Mandal, his uncle. After the incident, plans for the marriage came to a halt.
The SDPO of Navgachia, Om Prakash, stated that a case has been registered regarding the murder of the groom's uncle by the bride's cousin, and efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrator. The police are determined to arrest and prosecute the responsible individual swiftly.
