In Bihar, a video has surfaced capturing a tense standoff between former strongman legislator Anant Singh and the rival Sonu-Monu gang. Witnesses recorded the incident from a rooftop, depicting a chaotic scene as Anant Singh's convoy entered the village of Sonu-Monu, triggering a barrage of gunfire. The tense episode unfolded in the village of Nauranga-Jalalpur, under the Mokama subdivision. In response, the village quickly transformed into a heavily-policed encampment, with senior law enforcement officers arriving shortly to assess the situation.

According to available information, the Sonu-Monu gang reportedly assaulted a family and forcibly locked their house. Learning of this, Anant Singh's faction arrived, only to be greeted with gunfire from the defending gang. Police reports indicate that Anant Singh, accompanied by his followers, engaged in a shootout directed at a residence.
Law enforcement is vigorously probing the case as the gunfire exchange between Anant Singh's supporters and the opposing gang has cast a shadow of terror over the village. Following the incident, police teams rushed to Nauranga, where security presence became pervasive, with DSP Baad stationed on-site. In relation to the shooting, ASP Rakesh Kumar confirmed that upon receiving shooting reports, police officers were dispatched, who later recovered shell casings from the scene. The investigation of the entire incident is currently underway.
Astonishingly, around 70 to 80 rounds were reportedly fired amidst the clash. As the altercation unfolded, Anant Singh was reportedly on the scene. The Sonu-Monu gang wields considerable influence in Nauranga and its surrounding areas, known for their coercion and extortion activities.
Three Cases Filed Over Gang Warfare
The longstanding feud between Ex-legislator Anant Singh and the notorious Sonu-Monu duo resulted in registered cases against Singh, furthering his legal challenges. With disputes ongoing, the Pachmahal police station has documented three distinct cases over the gunfire incident. Vikram Sihag, the SP of the rural division, confirmed the filing of three cases due to the shooting.
A case based on a village resident's complaint was filed against the Sonu-Monu brothers, while Urmila Devi, their mother and a village head, provided testimony that led to a case against ex-politician Anant Singh. Additionally, a third police-initiated FIR addressed obstruction of police duties and the gunfire event.
