Just before the Bihar Assembly elections, RJD has expelled Tej Pratap Yadav from the party and the Lalu Yadav family due to a relationship controversy. This has sparked inquiries about whether Tej Pratap Yadav will establish a separate party or run with an RJD ticket. In an exclusive conversation with Aaj Tak, he addressed these questions. He confirmed his candidacy but hasn't specified from where he will contest in the elections.

Presently a legislator from the Hasanpur constituency in Samastipur district, Tej Pratap dispelled rumors about forming a new political outfit, stating there's no need when there's an existing party.

'We Will Be the Kingmakers...'

On being asked about his role as a potential kingmaker, Tej Pratap affirmed, we have always stated we'd be kingmakers. Much like how my father plays the role, I will continue in that capacity. I never back away from my statements.

Exclusive Interview: 'It's hard to tell if the conspiracy is internal or external...', Tej Pratap shares future plans.

When questioned whether he would be part of the government if Tejashwi were to be made Chief Minister, Tej Pratap replied, let's form the government first and then see.

'A Difficult Assessment...'

Predicting election outcomes, he said something is bound to happen in Bihar. Tejashwi has been actively engaging with the public. What will transpire remains to be seen, but a bit of effort is needed for the battle, given that the opposition is fully prepared and grounded. Everyone needs to work hard now. Whether a government will form is not something we wish to speculate on at this moment.

'Who is Lalu Ji's true successor, let the public decide,' says Tej Pratap on questions related to Tejashwi.

'Make or Break...'

When asked if the election will be tough this time, Tej Pratap firmly stated, absolutely tough. Anything can happen. It's make or break - anything is possible. We're not saying NDA might repeat success; India can do it too, but it will be a battle of make or break.
