Chaos as Water Surges

The sudden rise in water levels caused panic among the 162 sleeping children. They somehow managed to reach the school’s roof to save themselves, as the entire school was submerged. Police were informed of the incident in the morning. The police quickly responded, collaborating with villagers to safely rescue the children stranded on the rooftop.

Upon learning of the situation, Musabani DSP reported that the team promptly engaged in the rescue, with the assistance of locals, securing the safe evacuation of all children. Previously, on June 19, Ranchi police had similarly rescued numerous families trapped in homes surrounded by water in Namkum. With continuous rain, mountain rivers tend to surge instantly but recede just as quickly once the rains cease.
