Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, announcing 51 names during a press conference. However, Prashant Kishor was notably absent from this event.

The press conference was addressed by Jan Suraaj's state president, Manoj Bharti, and national president, Pappu Singh, who both unveiled the party's strategy by announcing the first batch of 51 candidates.

Jan Suraaj has declared that Prashant Kishor will commence his election campaign on October 11 from Tejashwi Yadav's constituency in Raghopur. This move symbolizes the party’s readiness to actively engage and carve a niche in the electoral arena.

Notably, the Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases: November 6 and November 11, with the results to be declared on November 14. The first phase will cover 121 segments, while the second phase will secure the polling for the remaining 122 seats.

The deadline for filing nominations for the first phase is October 17, with scrutiny the following day on October 18. Candidates wishing to withdraw their nominations have until October 20.

Similarly, for the second phase, the last date to file nominations stands at October 20, while the verification of nominations will occur on October 21. The final date to withdraw is October 23.

The tenure of the current Bihar Assembly concludes on November 22. The state houses 243 constituencies, with two seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes and 38 seats preserved for Scheduled Castes.
