On the Brink of Elections, Bihar Witnesses an Expansion of Nitish's Cabinet

The NDA government, led by Nitish Kumar, has seen a significant expansion today. The cabinet reshuffle included 9 legislators from JD(U) and 12 from BJP, carefully considering caste dynamics, adding 6 upper-caste, 6 Dalit (SC), 4 Most Backward (OBC), 4 Backward (BC), and 1 Muslim member. Discover who the new ministers are-

1-Renu Devi:

The first to take the oath was Renu Devi (Nonia) from the Extremely Backward Class. She has served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the previous coalition government and is a prominent figure in the BJP, having also held the role of the party's National Vice President. She is a four-time MLA from the Bettiah constituency.

2-Mangal Pandey:

A significant upper-caste face of the BJP, Mangal Pandey has been a three-time MLC. He has occupied the position of Health Minister in the Bihar government and is also a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. Pandey has served as the President of the Bihar BJP and has also been a key electoral manager in Himachal Pradesh and Bengal for the party.

3-Neeraj Kumar Singh:

Neeraj Kumar Singh is a BJP MLA from Chatapur, Bihar. He is one of the prominent Rajput leaders in the state with a five-term tenure as MLA, and has also held the portfolio of Environment and Forest Minister in 2021.

21-Santosh Singh

: Santosh Singh, an MLC from Rohtas-Kaimur, is a leader of the BJP.

It's noteworthy that on January 28, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had resigned from the Mahagathbandhan and had taken oath as the Chief Minister from the NDA alliance on the same day. During this transition, BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers.
