While addressing a rally on the death anniversary of 'Jagdev Prasad' in Patna, Upendra Kushwaha remarked that their performance in the last general elections was commendable. He stated, 'If we avoid our own losses, we can perform better in these assembly elections.'
Kushwaha raised concerns regarding BJP leaders' initiative to field Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh as an independent candidate from the Karakat Lok Sabha seat. He explained that the Karakat seat eventually went to CPI(ML) Liberation's candidate Raja Ram Kushwaha, following which he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha under the BJP quota.
