Bibhav Kumar, the accused in the reported assault incident within the Chief Minister's residence involving Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, has been arrested by Delhi Police. Bibhav was recently taken into custody from CM Arvind Kejriwal's house and subsequently transferred to the Civil Lines Police Station. Police were tipped that Bibhav was not out of Delhi but present at the Chief Minister's residence itself.
Upon arrival at the police station with Bibhav, an attempted forced entry by AAP's legal cell head Sanjeev Nasiar led to a scuffle, after which Delhi Police pushed him aside. It is reported that Bibhav Kumar sent an email to Delhi Police regarding his complaint, which they traced back to its IP address. Multiple teams were actively searching for Bibhav, who was finally detained at the Chief Minister's abode.

An assault on Swati Maliwal was brought to light on May 13th, following which Swati filed an FIR and made her statement in court. Therein, she accused Bibhav Kumar, known to be close to Arvind Kejriwal, of serious charges. Since the case registration, Delhi Police had been diligently searching for Bibhav's whereabouts.

Swati Maliwal levies serious accusations against Bibhav
Swati Maliwal's FIR against Bibhav contains grave allegations. She recounts that she went to CM Kejriwal's camp office to meet him. Unable to reach PS Bibhav Kumar by phone, she messaged him via WhatsApp to no response. Subsequently, she entered the residence as she has done over the past years. Not finding Bibhav present, she informed the staff to notify the CM of her arrival. She was instructed that Kejriwal was at home and to proceed to the drawing-room. While waiting on the sofa for the CM, Bibhav Kumar entered the room, verbally attacked, and without provocation, began cursing her. Shocked by the sudden aggression, she implored him to stop and call the CM, only to be physically assaulted by Bibhav.
She further states, "He began slapping me, at least 7-8 times, as I screamed in shock. I was completely appalled and tried to fend him off as he lunged at me and pulled at my shirt violently.
