In Rajasthan's Bharatpur, a wedding ceremony was marred by chaos over a speeding motorcycle. Initially, a young man speeding on his bike was slapped by some attendees. His family retaliated with gunfire, fatally wounding the bride’s uncle. Enraged villagers then beat the shooter to death, casting a shadow over the community.
In Babain village under Kumher police station, Amar Singh's daughter's wedding was in full swing. The joyous atmosphere was disrupted by Sumit Rajput, son of deputy head Lalita Devi, who raced around on his motorcycle, hindering preparations. The bride's uncle, Suresh Lodha, confronted Sumit, leading to a heated exchange. Tempers flared, resulting in Suresh slapping Sumit. Upon hearing this, Sumit's father, Vijendra Singh, flew into a rage, joined by allies, arrived with firearms.
Vijendra began firing, hitting Suresh Lodi, leaving him critically injured. His family rushed him to the district RBM Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. In retaliation, Suresh’s kin attacked Vijendra with sticks and rods. Tragically, they too needed medical help, but the doctors declared him dead as well.
Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh reported that gunfire exchanged between two factions resulted in one casualty on each side. The area is now under police surveillance as investigations proceed. Despite the tragedy, the wedding proceeded late at night under tight security at the city’s marriage home.
