Following an NIA raid in West Bengal's Bhupatinagar, political temperatures have surged once again. The National Investigation Agency denied any malicious intent in its recent operations in the Bhupatinagar area.
Moni Jana, the wife of the arrested TMC leader Manobrat Jana, filed an FIR against NIA officers, alleging forceful entry into their residence under the pretext of a search. The NIA has categorically denied these accusations.
According to the police officer, after receiving a complaint from a woman alleging assault during the raid, we registered an FIR.
NIA informed that the searches were conducted impeccably across five locations, including female constables, vouched for by independent witnesses and under security provided by the CRPF.
Following an attack on its team and the subsequent complaint lodged, the NIA has also sought legal proceedings against the assailants.
The NIA's recent arrest of two suspects, Manobrat Jana and Balai Chandra Meitei, has illuminated their steadfast requirement for compliance, despite repeated summons.
