In the Shahjahanpur area of Bareilly district, over half a dozen women have been mysteriously murdered. Despite attempts, the police have not yet apprehended the killer. The pattern of these murders is almost identical, creating an atmosphere of fear in the village.
Reports indicate that in the last 8-10 months, 9 women have been murdered. After thorough investigation, the police released three sketches. It is estimated these are the sketches of the psycho killer responsible for these murders.
Meanwhile, SP Manush Parikh has visited several areas, raised awareness, and urged residents to report any information immediately to the police. If they see an outsider, they should notify the authorities. The identity of the informants will be kept confidential.
Sketches Posted in Multiple Locations
Amidst the serial killings, Bareilly police have prepared sketches of some suspected psycho killers. These sketches have been posted at places like bus stands, railway stations, and several public locations. People are requested to immediately inform the police if they recognize the person in the sketches.
It is noteworthy that the pattern of women’s murders in the Shahjahanpur area of Bareilly started last year. In the past 14 months, 9 women have been killed, all following a similar pattern. On July 2nd, another woman was murdered in this area.
Common Factors in Murders
Most of the women killed were returning home after working in the fields in the evening. They were mostly aged between 45 and 65, targeting middle-aged women. After the murder, the body was left in the field.
Dread Falls on Village by Evening
The continuous murders have caused such fear in the Shahjahanpur area that silence engulfs the village by evening. Due to the relentless killings of women, the women are afraid to leave the house even for chores after dark. Men also return home before nightfall.
It is reported that the women targeted by the killer were either working in the fields or returning from them. These women were between 45 and 55 years of age. The series of murders have left the police baffled. The fear caused by these murders is so intense that people are petrified, and women are scared to go to the fields.
