Four Arrested in Bareilly for Prayers Without Permission

In Bareilly, four individuals, including a village head, were arrested for conducting Friday prayers in a temporary shed without the required permissions. Police disclosed on Saturday that cases have been filed against seven named individuals and other unidentified people. This incident occurred while prohibitory orders were in place due to upcoming festivals and the Republic Day ceremonies.

Behari Station House Officer (SHO) Sanjay Tomar mentioned that over 20 people were praying in a tin shed on land in Jam Sawant Shumali village without permission. The police were acting on a complaint from a member of the local right-wing group, Hindu Jagran Sena.

A member of the organization, Himanshu Patel, posted about the event on 'X' tagging senior police officers, which led the police to the scene, resulting in several detentions. SHO shared that a drone video of the incident was posted on social media platforms.

Four Arrested, Cases Filed Against Others

The police arrested Gram Pradhan Arif, Akil Ahmed, Mohammed Shahid, and Chhote Ahmed. Additionally, legal cases were filed against Mujammil, Kadir Ahmed, and Mohammad Arif. SHO reported that further legal proceedings are underway.
