Bangladesh has termed the lynching of a Hindu man in Mymensingh as an 'isolated incident' and rejected India's statement concerning minority-related issues. This response was in reaction to demonstrations near the Bangladeshi High Commission in New Delhi on December 20.

Dismissing India's comments, Bangladesh stated, "We reject the attempts by Indian officials to portray an attack on a Bangladeshi citizen as an assault on minorities."

Furthermore, they highlighted that suspects in the lynching case were swiftly apprehended and emphasized that inter-community relations in Bangladesh are better compared to many other South Asian regions. They underlined the responsibility of all regional governments to protect minorities.

'Misleading Propaganda...'

In a statement, the Bangladesh government described the incident outside their High Commission as 'deeply regrettable' and stated it cannot be discarded as 'misleading propaganda.'

Dhaka alleged that protestors were allowed to gather right outside the High Commission premises without prior notice, causing panic among diplomatic staff.

Bangladesh fully rejected India's comments on the demonstration by 'Hindu extremists' outside their High Commission in New Delhi on Sunday, questioning how protesters reached such a sensitive and secure diplomatic zone.

The swift arrest of suspects was commended internationally, highlighting Bangladesh's dedication to law enforcement and minority protection.

Threats to Bangladeshi Officials in Delhi...

Bangladesh's Foreign Adviser Tawhid Hussain provided an official response regarding the protests outside the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi and highlighted the security concerns of their ambassador receiving death threats, questioning the proximity of protesters near the embassy. Hussain detailed the swift action and arrests made by the government in the lynching case, dismissing attempts to link the incident with minority safety issues as baseless. Bangladesh has communicated its concerns to the Indian side.

Hussain stated, "Our ambassador in Delhi has received death threats. It's worrying how close protestors came to the embassy despite security protocols." He noted that High Commission staff and their families reside within the premises and feel insecure due to such activities.

Although India assured that adequate security measures were in place, Bangladesh remains cautious. They hope India will prevent such situations from arising again in the future.

Elsewhere, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh expressed confidence in India’s commitment to ensuring diplomatic security.

Trust in India and Hopes for the Future

The Foreign Adviser stated that they have firmly presented their concerns to the Indian side. He mentioned that maintaining embassy security is the host nation's duty, and Bangladesh has seriously noted this responsibility. Hussain expressed faith that India will provide full protection to their diplomats. He reminded all regional countries of their duty to act on such incidents, asserting that Bangladesh has fulfilled its obligations thoroughly. For now, they continue to monitor the situation in Delhi.
