In light of the upcoming Lok Sabha Election in Gujarat, a ban has been issued on waving black flags, displaying provocative play cards, and banners during political rallies and meetings to maintain peace and order. The circular released by the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner outlines that the Lok Sabha elections should be conducted peacefully and with good will so voters can participate in the elections and voice their opinions in a fear-free environment. The objective is to ensure tranquility and safety in the city.

During election campaigns, some individuals create disturbances by displaying black flags, play cards, and banners, accompanied by aggressive speeches which can potentially lead to violence. Considering this, restrictions have been imposed on such acts of protest with black flags and inflammatory banners in public assemblies, effective until May 7th, the day of the Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat.

BJP candidate faces opposition

In various districts including Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Tapi, and Sabarkantha, people from the Kshatriya community have shown their dissent towards the BJP candidate and current Union Minister, Parshottam Rupala, by displaying black flags and banners. They have announced 'Movement part-2' if Rupala does not withdraw his nomination. Consequently, the community has declared that they will oppose BJP candidates across all seats of the Gujarat Lok Sabha if he remains in the running.

The Kshatriya community has democratically decided to protest against the BJP candidate by showing black flags and banners. Hence, following the police circular, any display of black flags or provocative banners as a form of protest at any public meeting or rally is now banned.
