The Incident Unfolded on a Dismal Tuesday Evening in Badaun

On March 19th, suspect Sajid reached the home of Vinod Singh, located opposite his shop in the Civil Lines area. Vinod wasn't at home during the incident. Sajid borrowed five thousand rupees from Vinod's wife, Sangita, under the pretense of needing it for his pregnant wife's poor health. After discussing with her husband over the phone, Sangita agreed to lend him the money.

Following this, Sajid went to the roof where Sangita's children, 12-year-old Ayush and 6-year-old Ahaan, were playing. There Sajid attacked them with a sharp weapon, leading to their tragic death. After the crime, Sajid was killed in a police encounter.

The Mother Expressed: 'The Police Shouldn't Have Encountered Him; He Knew the Truth'

After the shocking incident, the children's mother Sangita stated that justice was yet to be served. She appealed to the police not to encounter Javed, Sajid's brother, as he might be the only one to reveal why Sajid committed the murders. During the conversation with 'Aaj Tak,' she mentioned that Sajid also had the intention to kill her. As she rushed towards the roof after hearing her children's screams, Sajid started yelling, 'Come here, come closer.'

What Did Javed Reveal After His Arrest?

Javed, the second suspect in this murder case, was apprehended in Bareilly. Recognized by some locals in an auto-rickshaw, they began interrogating him. Javed pleaded with them to hand him over to the police, claiming his innocence. After he was turned over to the police, it was revealed that he had been on the run since the crime took place, with a bounty of 25,000 rupees on his head.

During the interrogation, Javed stated that he fled directly to Delhi after the incident because of the chaos. He had switched off his phone upon hearing from several callers about the crime committed by his brother. 'I lead a simple and honest life,' Javed said. 'My brother was the culprit, not me.'
