Mohammad Javed, the accused in the Badaun double murder case, was captured in Bareilly. The Bareilly police handed him over to the Badaun authorities for interrogation. Javed had been on the run since the day of the incident (March 19). The police had announced a reward of 25,000 rupees for information leading to his arrest. Following his capture, the relatives of the deceased children (Ayush and Ahan) have demanded police protection, expressing fears that the murder suspect could harm others as well.

It's reported that last Tuesday, in Badaun's Baba Colony, two children met a gruesome end when their throats were slit. The brothers, Sajid and Javed, were accused of the crime. Shortly after the incident, Sajid was neutralized in an encounter, while Javed fled. Multiple police teams were engaged in his manhunt.

According to the police, today (March 21), Javed, the primary suspect in the killing of the two children and brother of Sajid, surrendered at the Baradari police station’s satellite outpost in Bareilly. An online video shows Javed pleading with a group of people for assistance in turning himself over to the police.

Caught in Bareilly, Javed finds himself in a web of crime and interrogation. Badaun SSP Alok Priyadarshi informed that Javed had surrendered at the police outpost and is being brought back for further questioning.

In the video, Javed asserts his innocence, distancing himself from the heinous act his brother committed, claiming no involvement in the crime.

The father of the murdered children, Vinod Kumar, praised the police for Javed’s arrest and called for severe punishment for the accused. Vinod has requested police protection for his family as well.

Vinod suggests that questioning should be carried out to establish whether others were involved because this is not the action of a single individual. According to him, Javed is equally complicit in the crime. "They could kill anyone; the strictest of actions should be taken against him. He either needs to be encountered or given the death sentence, but truthfulness must be established first," he stated.

The police have registered a case against both Sajid and Javed under IPC section 302 (murder). Furthermore, the district administration has ordered a judicial inquiry into the police encounter that took out Sajid. District magistrate Manoj Kumar has said, "A report on the encounter is due in 15 days."

The mother of the deceased, Sangita, has countered Javed's claims of innocence following his capture. She insists that Javed is lying to save his own skin. Sangita recalls that Javed accompanied Sajid to their home on the day of the incident. She urges the police to investigate the call records to find out whom Sajid called from her home right after the murders. "He is giving a false statement. He knew about it; that's why the murder was committed. He should be interrogated about how long they had been planning this. This wasn't devised in a single day. Why did Javed come to my house? Our children didn't even go anywhere; they always played at home," Sangita said.

Moreover, the grandmother of the slain children, Munni Devi, insists that Javed should be thoroughly interrogated to uncover why he killed her grandchildren, claiming he is spewing lies.
