In the holy city of Ayodhya, the expansive Ram Temple is set to celebrate the auspicious birth of Lord Ram on Ramanavami. Each moment of this celebration promises to be a nectar-filled experience for every devotee. The preparations for lord Ram's celestial anointment are underway with great fervor.
At the stroke of noon on Ramanavami, when Lord Ram is believed to be born, beams of sunlight will caress his forehead - a divine anointment carried out using a scientific formula, successfully trialed by researchers in recent days. As the celebration takes place on Ramanavami, devotees across the globe will witness the solemn moment of solar tilak being placed on his brow.
The Science Behind the Sun Tilak
The light of the sun will first touch the third floor of the temple and reflect through brass pipes. These rays will interact with a series of mirrors and lenses within the pipes, travelling at a 90-degree angle before striking the sanctum sanctorum where Lord Ram resides. There, the beams will create a circular tilak of 75 millimeters on Lord Ram's forehead, illuminating it for a continuous four minutes.

A stunning confluence of spirituality and science in Ayodhya
Implementing the laws of light reflection, students and professors from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University's Science Department have together crafted a model for the solar anointment in the Shri Ram Temple. This apparatus employs a bulb instead of the sun, demonstrating light refraction through various lenses to simulate the celestial event. The significant variation in this model lies in the absence of metal pipes and the use of a bulb to replicate the sun's energy.
